Toronto's LYE is saying goodbye. The band has been one of Toronto's top
hard rock acts for the last couple of years and have decided to call it a day.
The band is one of the most exciting live acts Toronto has ever seen and will
be missed within the Industrial/Hard Rock community. The band became known for
an explosive live show that included a plastic screen encasing the band in
smoke and strobe lighting. The shows were on edge as there always a sense of
danger as Brett (the singer) body slammed crowd members, climbed on top of and
teetered on bars, as well as their signature beer soaked stage end of set
battle. They quickly became a photographers favorite as there always was a
crowd of cameras at the front of every performance capturing each
moment.
During their life span the band had released Companion (2005),
Don't Look at Me (E.P 2006) as well as their latest, a LIVE DVD/CD recorded at
the OPERA HOUSE JULY 2006 (released April 2007). The band felt that it is time
to take a break from the workload and to recharge their batteries away from the
pressure of running a professional act. Are they finished? As LYE yes -
musically who knows who knows if they will return to performing, it remains to
be seen for now this is the last chance to see LYE.
On Tuesday Dec 18
2007 the band will be performing a set of fan favorites.
